Patented Low-Temperature Activation (LTA)

Hyera’s Low-Temperature Activation (LTA) technology uses a proprietary mix of gases and controlled process conditions to activate carbon at significantly lower temperatures than traditional methods. Unlike legacy systems that rely on high-temperature steam or corrosive chemicals, our process:



  • Eliminates fossil fuel inputs in activation

  • Reduces energy consumption

  • Delivers a more consistent pore structure and performance profile

This breakthrough in material science allows Hyera to produce activated carbon tailored for high-efficiency PFAS adsorption, organic contaminant removal, and extended operational life across filtration systems.

Engineered to Sequester Carbon

Our production platform does more than reduce emissions- it actively removes them.

For every kilogram of activated carbon produced, Hyera sequesters approximately 2 kilograms of CO₂, enabling our sites to generate third-party-validated carbon credits. These carbon-negative benefits provide our customers and partners with additional ESG value- quantifiable and auditable.

Sustainable Feedstock. Smarter Processing.

Conventional activated carbon is often produced using coal or imported coconut shells - materials that raise environmental, ethical, and supply chain concerns. These processes rely on fossil fuels and generate high carbon emissions.

At Hyera, we do things differently.

Our proprietary process is optimized for agricultural by-products, particularly almond shells sourced within the United States These renewable biomasses are transformed into high-performance activated carbon without the need for coal or petroleum-based energy inputs.
